At our recent community event "Trails to Rails", members of the History Expeditions team presented a booth (backdrop painting by museum volunteer Caroline Garbarino), talking to visitors about their activities . The team had just completed the "Heroes and Survivors" trek in the footsteps (or hoof tracks) of the Horseback Party of Six, a subgroup of the Stephens-Townsend-Murphy Party. Have you set your clocks back after Daylight Savings time? - Next, it might be time to reserve your table for the Winter Tea. Tables are selling out fast - Sunday, December 14 is already sold out. So hurry to the phone and book a seat or ten for your group to enjoy our fabulous Teas. Finger sandwiches, scones with all the trimmings, and sweet little delights will be served along with endless cups of tea. Dress up in period costume, as some of our regulars do, or don your Sunday best, find a hat, gather your friends and let us spoil you for a lovely afternoon. Spots for the Winter Teas are still available on the first weekend, December 6/7 and for Saturday 13. They run from 2 - 4 pm, and you can stroll the museum exhibits before you go upstairs, and visit the Museum Store for some Holiday shopping. Call 408.749.0220 to book a table. The Teas, as well as the Museum Store, are run entirely by volunteers. They are one of our biggest fundraisers, and we rely on them to pay the bills. Help us make them a successful event by bringing your friends and family for a pre-holiday treat.
