Happy October! This month students will be learning all about snap peas 🫛 Snap peas are also known as “sugar snap peas” and can be eaten whole. They were created in 1979 when crossing an English pea and snow pea and got their name from the sound they make when they are snapped in half! Snap peas are crunchy, sweet and easy to eat! They are a great source of Vitamin C to support our immune system and fiber to aid with digestion. It is important to water snap peas as the plant is blossoming, provide a stake or trellis to climb, and harvest when peas are well formed but are still small inside the edible pod.
