Last month, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless hosted a powerful two-day Building Bridges to Belonging retreat, bringing together staff from across departments to deepen our collective commitment to trauma-informed care, equity, and connection. Through interactive workshops, grounding exercises, and reflective dialogue, participants explored allyship and the principles of belonging. The retreat featured two wonderful keynote speakers Liz Elsen from the Center on Colfax and Maileen Hamto via the Colors of Influence. Our guest speakers and breakout hosts (Nicholas Manning, Toni Airozo, and Lizz Jackson) lead group activities centered on empathy, resilience, and the belonging—equipping staff with information and practical tools to successfully connect with their fellow employees.
