This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on Seeking Safety, our evidence-based group supporting young people navigating trauma and substance use. So far, 65 youth have participated, and 45% have reported improved mental health symptoms—a powerful reminder that change is possible when care is consistent. All month long, we’ve honored mental wellness in meaningful ways, including: 💚 Green ribbons for hope, growth & renewal 🎨 Tie-dye to remind us that all emotions are welcome 🍿 Movie nights with Inside Out 2 & stovetop popcorn 🏀 Open Gym as a space for release & connection 🌞 Daily affirmations for brighter self-talk 🍽️ Shared meals & sweet surprises—because joy is healing, too At My Friend’s Place, we’re building a community where young people feel safe, supported & seen—this month and every month. 🥗For many young people experiencing homelessness, access to fresh food is limited, and the opportunities to learn cooking skills have been limited, too. Young people at My Friend’s Place rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on nutrition and cooking class as part of our "Blood, Sweat, and Tears, I’m Still Here!" Health Challenge.
