Mrs. Medina will make history as the first Hispanic teacher to travel to space, representing millions of educators around the world from among the stars. This monumental opportunity is made possible by the generosity of Farmacias Similares, whose support ensures that Ms. Medina’s journey inspires a global audience of students, families, and fellow educators. Their investment in science and education is opening the door for teachers to not only teach about space—but to experience it firsthand. Blue Origin’s New Shepard is a fully reusable, suborbital rocket system designed for human spaceflight from the beginning. Mrs. Medina will join other crew members in a flight that crosses the Kármán line—the internationally recognized boundary of space—before safely returning to Earth.
