☀️ Extreme Heat Is More Than Just Uncomfortable, It Can Be Deadly In 2023 alone, extreme heat was linked to over 2,300 deaths and nearly 120,000 ER visits in the U.S. Heat is an invisible threat, by the time you notice the symptoms, it can already be serious. 🏥 Those most at risk include: Older adults Children Those who are pregnant Those with chronic illnesses or on certain medications Outdoor workers & athletes 🧠 Signs of heat exhaustion: Sweating, weakness, nausea, clammy skin. 🚨 Signs of heat stroke: Confusion, slurred speech, fast pulse, headache, call 911 immediately. How to Help Stay safe: Drink water every hour, even if you're not thirsty Avoid alcohol & caffeine Spend time in air-conditioned spaces Check on family, friends, and neighbors Never leave kids or pets in hot vehicles 🌡️ Heatwaves are becoming more frequent and more intense.
