It’s baby skunk season! Skunks have been born and many are at the age where they are starting to explore out of the den. Found a skunk? Here is when to be concerned and call for help: 🦨the babies appears lethargic, cold, or are out during daylight for a long time. 🦨baby is out in the open curled in a ball for a prolonged period of time 🦨You see flies or ants on them (a sign of injury or neglect) 🦨mom has not been observed for over 24 hours 🦨babies are out laying in the rain Unfortunately, we have gone to many calls this year where the babies have already passed - we were too late. It’s never too early to call us and start watching and observing the babies. If they end up not needing help, great! If they do need help, we can identify this and intervene quickly giving the babies the best change at survival. Guess how many skunks we have? 28!!!
