It expands the piano repertoire by commissioning new music and sustaining several concert series performed by virtuoso Los Angeles based pianists, focusing primarily on music by living American composers. PS' artists also mentor the next generation of concert pianists through the Emerging Artists Series presenting public performances and workshops featuring young artists and composers. Piano Spheres increases outreach to underserved audiences through their Summer Jazz Series, and the Leonard Stein Artist Residency for Underrepresented Groups.
