✨ Yesterday we were joined by an amazing group of IBCLCs, CLCs, doulas, and perinatal health professionals to hear from our MLCA Board of Directors and Marsha Walker, RN, IBCLC on the upcoming changes in lactation licensure in Massachusetts. Here are the key updates: 🔹 Licensure takes effect January 1, 2026 🔹 The Board of Allied Health will appoint 3 IBCLCs and 2 MDs after January 1st 🔹 A current bill (S242) proposes to include only CLCs under the IBCLC licensure bill 🔹 Once licensure is in place, there will be many opportunities to advocate for and elevate our profession 💪 Join @masslactationconsultants, @massbreastfeeding , @nlca.us , and local breastfeeding coalitions in using your voice and skills to support these advocacy efforts!
