The Ride the Rim back-to-back weekend events at Crater Lake National Park were a beacon of hope, showcasing the transformative power of nature and community! Thousands of people came together to celebrate the beauty of the park, biking, hiking, or running on miles of vehicle-free roadway around the lake over the last two weekends. Their attendance is a testament to the unwavering passion for public recreation and conservation of our precious national treasures. This event is a shining example of what can be achieved when dedicated National Park employees, guiding volunteers from the Discover Klamath Visitor & Convention Bureau, and the Friends of Crater Lake NP non-profit organization who joined forces to organize, fund, coordinate, and conduct the Ride the Rim event. Despite the challenges posed by federal staffing, program funding, and capacities to serve the public, the power of partnership and public support prevailed! If you're inspired to help fuel the momentum for future Ride the Rim events, consider sending your thoughts or share your experiences with the Crater Lake National Park Superintendent at: craterlake@nps.gov Your support for funding this event is crucial. Donations can be made to the Discover Klamath Ride the Rim website at: https://buy.stripe.com/eVadRrek67QM0U0cMM The Friends of Crater Lake also can use support through new memberships and donations too.
