🌱Gardening education is expanding in Washington! 🌱 The new Washington Green School (WGS) curriculum will provide garden basics, advanced sections on pest management, water conservation, fire-resistant landscaping and more. There will be two tracks starting in the fall of 2025: 1) Washington Gardener track: register and complete the WGS course to earn a WGS certificate. Registration in Cowlitz County for the Washington Green School (WGS) be available in mid-July. 2) Extension Master Gardener (EMG) track: register and earn the Washington Gardener Certificate and attend local volunteer EMG training. This training will prepare gardeners to be community educators, sharing research-based gardening information in plant answer clinics, demonstration gardens, community presentations, and other meaningful ways. Master Gardener Foundation Of Cowlitz County WHO WE ARE We are an enthusiastic community of people interested in sustainable gardening practices. The WSU Extension Master Gardeners are dedicated volunteers who are passionate about our mission to deliver sciencebased information to the community that helps to conserve and enhance our natural resources while improving the quality of life and wellbeing of Washington State residents. The Master Gardener Foundation of Cowlitz County is a 501c3 nonprofit educational organization. We aim to support a sustainable and healthy community by raising funds planning educational projects and workshops and expanding awareness of the WSU Cowlitz County Master Gardener outreach programs.
