Last week, the AWBW team came together for our staff retreat, a time for reflection, connection, and renewal. Thanks to support from the Durfee Foundation’s Lark Award that AWBW received last year, we had the rare and beautiful opportunity to gather in person, to rest and recharge, and to get to know one another beyond our daily work. In a field where we’re often focused on holding space for others, this time reminded us of the importance of holding space for ourselves and each other. We shared stories, laughter, and moments of quiet, allowing us to rediscover the joy that comes from slowing down and being in community. As we return to our work, we carry with us a renewed sense of connection and purpose, grounded in the same creativity, care, and collaboration that fuel AWBW’s mission.
