Lynnfield Rail Trail Incredible aerial video of Reedy Meadow March 21 2025 UpdatePress Release Rail Trail Receives FY26 Funding RecommendationThe Town of Lynnfield is excited to announce that the Boston Area Metropolitan Planning Office MPO staff is recommending that based on the advances in design and various project development requirements Phase 1 of its longawaited rail trail project be advanced and that funding for construction be provided in FY2026. If the MPO Board votes to accept this recommendation construction of the rail trail can begin in 2026. The Town is currently finalizing the design and permitting steps necessary to comply with MassDOTs funding requirements.
