October of 2022, Roy Cooper stood tall on the steps of the Billy Bob's Texas 81 Club in the heart of the #FortWorthStockyards and accepted the Texas Trail of Fame award on behalf of actor Robert Duvall. He closed with his final quote from Lonesome Dove "It's been one hell of a Ride, Indeed it has." Today those words carry an even deeper meaning. Thank you Roy Cooper for the life you lived, the legacy you leave behind. Your ride inspired us all. "Lord, when my final ride is done, let my spurs be silent at Heavens Gate, and a trusted horse waiting to carry me home." The Texas Trail of Fame Board sends our heartfelt prayers to the Cooper family.
