Happy first day of school! Our TK-8 community came together this morning as our staffulty welcomed families with our traditional welcome songs: All Are Welcome, Welcome Oh Welcome, and Bienvenidos. Throughout the day, students reconnected with old friends, made new ones, and got to know their new classrooms and teachers. They read stories like First Day Jitters, went on school-wide scavenger hunts, played community-building games, began new self-portraits, designed name tents, tackled design challenges, and eagerly signed up for electives. We’ve been busy at work these last couple of weeks reconnecting, reflecting, and getting ready for students to join us TOMORROW! This summer has been a season of growth and renewal across our campus and within our community. Teachers and staff leaned into learning together with professional development in Universal Design for Learning, Social Thinking with Ryan Hendrix, DEIB work grounded in Deepa Iyer's Social Change Ecosystem Framework, and even an improv workshop for our leadership team! At the same time, our spaces have been refreshed with a brand new TK classroom and dedicated play areas (like our new mud kitchen!), along with a new yurt for our K–5 Spanish program. Last week, we had the joy of welcoming new families to campus to meet teachers, learn the ropes, and share a community meal together. Tomorrow we open our doors for the 50th first day of school at Park. We can’t wait to celebrate this milestone year together and see all the learning, laughter, and discoveries that are in store!
