Congratulations to our newly certified Mental Health First Aiders! Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour nation-wide, evidence-based training course to teach participants how to help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis. The course teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Last week staff at @lahaina_chc were trained in LivingWorks ASIST, a two day workshop that teaches participants how to recognize when someone may be thinking of suicide and how to provide skilled intervention and develop a safety plan to link that person to support.
