July is Disability Pride Month – a time to honor the history, culture, and contributions of people with disabilities, and to affirm the truth that we all belong. This year’s theme, “We Belong Here, and We’re Here to Stay,” reflects a powerful truth: people with disabilities are vital members of every community. For over 45 years, CIL has stood as an ally in the movement for inclusion, partnering with service providers to deinstitutionalize care and support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living full, self-directed lives in their communities.
