The benefits of dogwood --> It is excellent at stabilizing soil, easy to establish, and can grow quickly. Like many other riparian trees and shrubs, it provides cover and shade that cools water temperatures in streams for salmonids and other resident species. It's also culturally significant for many native tribes. Indigenous people used the bark to make a brown dye and infused decoction for stomach trouble.
