33% of young people impacted by the child welfare system experience homelessness by age 21. According to the Dismantling the Foster Care to Homelessness Pipeline in Austin report from LifeWorks and the City of Austin, “Without interventions, the number of young people experiencing homelessness in Austin and Travis County is expected to nearly double over the next five years, according to LifeWorks’ projections.
