Did you know that while National Forests cover only 8% of the land area of the lower 48 states, 18% of the water supply in those states originates in National Forests and Grasslands. In western states that number is much higher at 50% of the water supply. And about a quarter of this total supply from National Forests comes from designated wilderness areas. (fb)
This week our staff and board of directors met in Tucson, AZ and enjoyed a great field trip with @skyislandalliance to learn more about their work studying the importance of springs in habitat connectivity and how wildlife migration is impacted by the border wall. (fb)
