Beginning in 8th grade, Ayers counselors work alongside students to help them develop a plan for life after high school, whether that’s community college, technical school, university, or military service. Thanks to the support of Gov. Bill Lee, Lt. Governor Randy McNally, Speaker Cameron Sexton, the entire Tennessee General Assembly, and the Governor's Rural Education Foundation, we have full-time counselors embedded in 28 of the state's most economically distressed and at-risk communities. Our mission: to help all students in those communities develop a plan to reach their individual goals beyond high school — whether it be attending a community college, technical school, university, or joining the military.
