As we gear up for another summer of youth-created public art, we wanted to post a throw back to last year's project for Bronx County Family Court. Led by Creative Art Works Teaching Artists Dani Coca and Natalie Raskin, and Teaching Artist Assistant Becky Schuman, our team of Youth Apprentices (YAs) colorfully transformed the courthouse's intake room. From park bench conversations to flowers representing Bronx residents' diverse heritage, every detail was rooted in community. Our YAs built a strong and creative team, dividing responsibilities, and supporting one another through challenges. The result? A pair of murals: Rays of Change, a sunrise, and Rays of Hope, a sundown—symbols of resilience, healing, and new beginnings for all who pass through the space.
