This is Oprah. She is a 24 year old BLM mustang. She was adopted by someone in 2006, then transferred to a "rescue" in Oregon that had no ability to handle or care for wild horses. When they reached out to Lifesavers and asked us to take Oprah and another mustang they actually told me that if the horses got sick or injured or needed their feet trimmed they would not be able to manage them and would likely have to shoot the horses. Of course I said we would take them. Oprah has been living with us ever since. It is not easy to care for wild, ungentled horses. It takes a lot of skill, understanding, equipment, and patience. Luckily most of our wild ones stay pretty healthy and don't need much from us but space to roam, food, and water. They tend to live a very long time with us. Your donations are lifesaving gifts.
