Have you heard of Lincoln Hills? Learn about this historic mountain retreat at our breakfast event on July 19th. Located an hour south of Estes Park, Lincoln Hills was the first African American recreational resort west of the Mississippi River. Lincoln Hills was founded in 1922 to serve as a resort community created by Black Americans for Black Americans, during a time when the fight against segregation was a constant battle and when the Ku Klux Klan was at its peak. Lincoln Hills is now included on the National Register of Historic Places. The event will be hosted at Eagle Rock School & Professional Development Center, where over 400 acres of land have been conserved by the land trust since 1993.
