American Legion National Commander James A. LaCoursiere Jr. will in be Indianapolis May 5-8 for the annual Spring Meetings, along with National Executive Committee (NEC) and commission and committee members. During Spring Meetings, the 2025 American Legion Legacy Scholarship recipients will be announced, as well as the American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year. The American Legion Department of West Virginia is staging a veteran outreach and post revitalization efforts May 3-4 in Kenova. Veterans in the areas are invited to discuss and receive assistance with veterans’ benefits, and learn about the Legion’s legislative efforts, membership opportunities and service to the community. The effort will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day at @kenova Kenova Post 93 American Legion, 302 8th St., Kenova. A veteran service officer will be available to assist area veterans with claims or other veteran benefit related questions on all three days. (fb)
