The Events Industry Council is pleased to announce that the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) has achieved GOLD level certification to the EIC Sustainable Event Standards. The MBCC is the first OVG-managed property within the current portfolio to achieve Gold Level Certification as part of a partnership between OVG and EIC. The achievement spotlight’s MBCC’s commitment to the environmentally and socially responsible practices that are needed to support long-term sustainability in our industry. The EIC Sustainable Event Standards have been created through a global collaborative process with participation from subject matter experts in all sectors. They provide a framework for collaboration, a strong focus on guidance and metrics so that event professionals, at all stages of their sustainability journey, have the support needed to implement and measure sustainable practices. To date, more than 300 professionals have participated in the review of the standards.
