Have you heard of LINCOLN REPAIR CAFE? Common Root board member Larry is a regular volunteer fixer! Repair Cafes are community events where fixers bring their tools and know-how and help individuals with broken items such as electronics and clothes fix them! Lincoln Repair Cafe happens every third Saturday at 1pm in the basement of New Visions United Methodist Church! More info below! We are a group of volunteers who gather monthly to provide repair and mending services to the community, free of charge. Our goal is reduce the amount of items that are repairable, but end up in landfills. Services typically offered include clothing mending, household item repair, and costume jewelry repair. What to expect: - Our events are held in the church basement. There is an elevator available. We ask that you bring your item down to the basement with you for repair. - Someone will greet you at the door, take down your information, and guide you to your repair volunteer or advise on the current wait time. - All items brought to Repair Café must be taken with you when you leave. We do not have any storage available. - Children need to be supervised at all times as some of our items are fragile or potentially dangerous. - We strive to keep an environment where everyone is comfortable. As much as we love animals, we ask that you keep pets at home. Service animals are permitted. - We reserve the right to limit the amount of repairs provided to any one attendee. (fb)
