Matagorda Volunteer Fire Department – Serving the Matagorda Community since 1948
Matagorda VFD operates fire stations in Matagorda and Selkirk. The MVFD service area is 230 square miles including 40 miles of Matagorda Beach. Additionally, Matagorda VFD serves as a mutual aid partner to all other fire departments in Matagorda county. Matagorda Volunteer Fire Departs mission is to provide safety for our community in an emergency and educate the community about keeping themselves safe in a fire or medical emergency.
