Happy #AsianHeritageMonth! 🌸 This month is a time to uplift the voices, contributions, and histories of Asian communities — and to recognize the strength and resilience shown in the face of discrimination, past and present. One powerful story we're proud to share is that of Shuichi Kusaka, a brilliant Japanese Canadian physicist who studied under Oppenheimer, helped revise Einstein’s biography, and overcame obstacles to teach at Princeton. To honour his legacy, Shuichi’s nephew Victor Kusaka, along with his seven siblings, created the Kusaka & Iwata Family Fund through Vancouver Foundation. The fund supports the library and science fair at Britannia Secondary School, Shuichi and Victor's shared alma mater, with the hope of inspiring future generations of scientists, and changemakers.
