Charlotte-Mecklenburg is making measurable progress toward ending homelessness. According to Mecklenburg County Government's Building Bridges Blog: One Number Update (July 2025), the total number of people experiencing homelessness is 2,408, a 22% decrease from July 2024. Even more encouraging, the median time to exit homelessness into housing dropped from 436 days to 185 days in just one year. That’s a 251-day reduction in how long it typically takes for a person to secure stable housing. These numbers reflect what we work toward every day at Housing Collab: helping families and individuals move into housing faster and with lasting stability. Progress is happening, and it’s proof that collaboration, data-driven solutions, and committed resources make a difference.
