We loved teaming up with Alcorn this summer to give kids an experience in the kitchen! So, what is Kids in the Kitchen? It is a summer and after-school program for kids ages 6 to 15 years that uses USDA’s MyPlate! It encourages young people to eat healthier meals and snacks through hands-on cooking experiences. Youth participants learn to prepare simple, healthy foods they can make for themselves and their family members. Each lesson includes kid-friendly handouts such as recipes and tips for how to use kitchen equipment safely.
