Relatives, we would like to address some misinformation that has circulated in the past 24 hours about the CURRENT legal charges against NDN Collective CEO Nick Tilsen. While Nick currently faces charges from 2023 from a cop-watch incident, an OLD social media post from 2022– three years ago– began RE-circulating, announcing OLDER charges dropped from a PREVIOUS case against Nick. Note that as a frontline organizer, Nick has been systematically targeted MULTIPLE times in the form of different legal charges throughout the years. And while we were in fact successful in 2022 (again, three years ago) in getting charges dropped from a 2020 Mount Rushmore protest, Nick currently still awaits a decision on the next steps of his most recent charges. While we continue to support Nick in the legal battle ahead, we encourage supporters to be diligent in fact-checking information on the internet and social media. This includes checking date stamps on old posts that circulate on the internet before we engage or reshare. From Hawaii to New York, NDN Collective trained over 200 people in 15 different communities in organizing strategies in 2024. In Hawaii, we collaborated with our partners at HULI to coordinate a Training for Trainers session to deepen creative resistance skills and share knowledge.
