📣 LEADERSHIP UPDATE | ALASKA NATIVE HERITAGE CENTER The Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelsey Ciugun Wallace (Yup’ik) to Interim President & CEO. Kelsey brings over 10 years of cumulative leadership at ANHC and has most recently served as Vice President of Strategic Advancement and Communications, where she co-led the organization’s largest capital campaign, secured over $13 million in funding, expanded programmatic reach, and co-authored ANHC’s multi-year Responsibility Plan, which aligns strategic vision across departments. “Kelsey brings steady, culturally grounded leadership and a clear vision rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems,” said Board Chair Tiffany Tutiakoff (Yup’ik/Dena’ina). “Her deep commitment to our community, along with her experience in nonprofit leadership, cultural programming, fundraising, and strategic advancement makes her the right leader for this moment. The Board has full confidence in her ability to guide ANHC through this time of transition and into its next chapter.” The Board expresses deep gratitude for Kelsey’s willingness to step into this role and for her continued service to the organization and community. The Board also extends heartfelt appreciation to Emily Edenshaw (Yup’ik/Iñupiaq) for her six years of visionary leadership as President & CEO. Under her guidance, ANHC achieved major milestones, including campus renovations, national recognition, and statewide program growth. We wish Emily the very best as she moves closer to family in Southeast Alaska. The Board remains committed to supporting the staff and community as it continues the search for ANHC’s next President & CEO. #AlaskaNativeHeritageCenter (fb)
A pair of beautiful dance fans made by Drew Michael, Yup'ik. These dance fans were part of a workshop in 2023. Materials are driftwood, pigment, caribough grough, and bird feathers. Inside the dance fans is the Ellanguaq or eye of awareness, and the outer rings representing the universe.Thank you Emily Edenshaw for your wonderful leadership and guidance over the years, and take care. #CulturalHeritage #CulturalExchange (fb)
