Mojo's new dad sent us a photo of the baby happy in his home. He'll soon be joined by another APA kitty adopted by the same family--waiting for them to clear ringworm. This year, you've probably noticed us beating the drum of becoming an APA Recurring Donor Hero. It's because we truly need your help to not only survive ourselves--but also thrive. Running a facility is not easy. We have overhead expenses that come with the territory no matter how much we dislike them. Example: we recently received an inspection report from our property insurance. We must have insurance to operate. And most of the issues we have to remedy stem from being in an old building with outdated electrical boxes and circuit breakers. We know addressing these issues with our electrician will not be inexpensive. This is what we mean by we run like any other small business and need our supporters to pitch in in large numbers so we can address all that comes up on a daily basis. There's a huge difference between rescues with brick and mortar buildings full of animals and smaller nonprofits running all-volunteer out of their homes. We started out that way 15+ years ago. And ALL of us local groups saving lives in DAC need your support and are deserving of it. Not one of us receive any government funding whatsoever.
