Global Ties KC is honored to be joining the International Relations Council this week, as this year’s Global Honors Evening Awardee for Contributions to the Community. 🌎 This recognition holds special meaning for us, not only because of the work we do today, but because of the deep roots we share with the International Relations Council. 70 years ago, a group of civically minded leaders in Kansas City came together with a vision: to make our city a place where international engagement, dialogue, and collaboration could thrive. From that vision, both Global Ties KC and the International Relations Council were born, creating two organizations united by the belief that diplomacy begins at the local level. Though our work has evolved over the decades, our interwoven missions remain the same: making Kansas City a more globally-minded and globally-connected place. From welcoming international leaders and hosting youth exchanges, to supporting citizen diplomacy and encouraging global education, we are proud to help create a community that sees the world not as something “out there,” but as something we’re all a part of — right here in KC.
