Check out these before and after photos of a habitat restoration done at Ike’s Creek on the @Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Bloomington! The Refuge Friends helped support this restoration through a generous gift from Cargill Salt. This natural trout stream (which is not fishable) is a treasure on the refuge. Among improvements are: • An old culvert was removed, allowing the stream to naturally meander over time • Natural stone and wood were embedded into the stream bank to improve low bank erosion and to provide streambank structure and calm pools for the trout (fb)
