Yesterday, our 8th graders held a Climate Symposium, where they shared what they’ve been learning in science — from the carbon cycle and greenhouse gas effect to the impact climate change has on species and the environment. They also explored ideas around adaptation vs. mitigation, fossil fuels, and the principles of Indigenous land management. Families and peers had a chance to hear about their stewardship work removing English Ivy around campus, hear presentations about native plants, check out creative projects in a gallery walk, and enjoy an original song written and performed by two of our students.
