#OnThisDay in 1889, the Gibson House opened the finest furnished hotel in the city of Findlay. Located on the east side of North Main Street at 335-337, just south of the Lake Erie and Western Railroad. The building was a three-story brick structure with an iron balcony from the second floor affording an excellent view of the broad and busy street. There was a connected bathroom, barber shop, sample room, and billiard parlor with the hotel. The house contained 50 desirable rooms. The name changed many times over the years including the Hotel Champion, Arlington Hotel. Hotel Gorrell (pictured), and the Northview Hotel.
