Our prayers have been requested for those affected by the catastrophic flooding in the Texas Hill Country. The disastrous flooding has affected the towns of Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt, and Center Point, as well as several summer camps, including Camp Mystic, Camp LaJunta, and the Episcopal Camp Capers. Several members of our ESD family, including faculty, students, and alumni, are involved in these camps. We ask your prayers for everyone affected. With this in mind we offer the following prayer and Psalm, inspired from the Book of Common Prayer: O Lord, God of Peace and Protection: We ask your mercy and grace for those affected by flooding in the Hill Country. Grant strength and persistence to those who are leading search and rescue efforts; Supply safety and protection to those who are displaced and distraught; Give peace and hope to all involved and worried, and sustain them with the resources they need for the days and weeks ahead. We ask this all in the Name of our Savior and Sustainer. Amen. God is Our Refuge: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
