A new shipment of humanitarian aid has reached Clinical Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 25 of the Kharkiv City Council, including much-needed nitrile gloves for doctors and nurses working on the frontlines. In Ukraine’s current reality, even something as simple as gloves can mean the difference between safe patient care and increased infection risk. While some of the gloves in this batch are past their printed expiration date, the reality is that hospitals under resource strain cannot afford to discard them. In fact, expired nitrile gloves often remain perfectly functional for many procedures, and in crisis settings, they’re tested and put to use rather than wasted. Every intact pair helps protect both healthcare workers and the patients they serve. It’s a reminder that in times of shortage, nothing goes to waste and that even supplies that others might overlook can become a critical source of protection in the right hands.
