🎶 Tuesday in Harmony, Rotary Club of Windsor Recap This week’s meeting struck a powerful chord as we welcomed District 5130 Governor Kristine Redko, introduced by our own Assistant Governor Brian Ling, who has a history of collaboration with her dating back years! 🎼 Kristine’s theme for the year: Creating Harmony through Rotary. She reminded us that “Rotary is the music of our heart,” blending melody with purpose. Our club was her very first visit and she expressed a deep sense of alignment with our energy and impact. 💡 Each President was asked to choose a song that reflects their club’s spirit. President Larry picked “Let’s Get Moving into Action” by Tim Armstrong, Kristine even played a clip to inspire us! She then posed the question to all of us: What’s your WALK-UP song? Does Rotary ignite your passion? 🎤 Kristine brought her own vibrant rhythm, sharing how she led her previous club to Club of the Year while raising two kids, and how she’s weaving music and service into every aspect of Rotary this year. 🎬 She encouraged inviting non-Rotarians to the film events and quoted Arch Klumpf: “What Rotary will be tomorrow depends upon what we Rotarians do today.” 👏 The meeting wrapped with the introduction of the Harmony Award, recognizing uplifting spirit and attitude. You are all invited to a dedication ceremony for the Kincade monument: Date: Tuesday July 22nd Time: 6pm Where: Foothill park, Windsor Please join us to honor the heroism of our first responders and the memory of Doug Williams. The Kincade Fire was a wildfire that burned in Sonoma County, starting in Geyserville at 9:24 pm on October 23, 2019 and was fully contained on November 6, 2019. Our town of Windsor was saved due to the wise decisions of the emergency personnel of Sonoma County and what they had learned from the Tubbs Fire and the cooperation of the town residents in following evacuation orders. The Rotary Club of Windsor under the leadership of our past president Doug Williams created medallions to remember the valor and heroism of the first responders and all of those that were on the leading edge of the fight. The words say “They took a stand” which honors the deep sense of commitment toward our community. “They Held the Line” and we know that it was often at great personal risk that they raced up and down the fireline and climbed onto rooftops to knock down a huge beast of a fire. “They saved our Town” which recognizes that their commitment and valor paid off in saving our town and more importantly our way of life! And now the Rotary Club of Windsor has created a memorial plaque that will stand in tribute to the individual acts of heroism that came together in that remarkable feat. It has been placed at the entrance to Foothill Park in cooperation with the Foothill HOA. (fb)
