At One Ball One Village, sustainability isn’t just about changing filters—it often entails more complicated solutions to ensure that clean water flows for communities in Haiti long term. Over the past two weeks, our incredible in-country leaders have been hard at work, making a lasting impact: Loubert Turenne revisited the Guedon community water station to replace their water filters. He then went to the village of Baron with his team to tackle a major challenge at the water station built in 2022. The tank was leaking badly, but they didn’t back down. They drained it, dried it, climbed inside it, and applied a special concrete-like sealer created for potable water tanks. Now, it’s waterproofed and ready to serve the community again! The team also gave the station a fresh coat of paint, complete with our special scripture from John 4, reminding everyone that the “Living Water” inspires our mission. Meanwhile, Makendy Paul returned to the Santo 19 community water station to make a game-changing upgrade. The local church had extended a new water line to the street for easier community access, but it bypassed our OBOV filter system. Makendy removed and reinstalled the entire system to ensure every drop of water is clean and safe. Praise the Lord for this victory! Clean Water. ..Living Water Update: Guatemala. OBOV’s dedicated in-country leader David Albizures has had another incredible month, installing new water systems in three sizable village communities with virtually no access to clean water. These represent OBOV’s 33rd, 34th and 35th clean water projects of 2025 in 6 different countries! Praise the Lord! David does an exceptional job of identifying communities in extreme need of clean water and sends the following messages from each of the principals and leaders in the 3 villages that now have clean, filtered water: 1. Jolomche School serves more than 240 children from low-income families. Their parents are dedicated to agriculture and the water filter is a great blessing that will help all children and their families, not only preventing diseases but also bringing the love of God through clean water. Glory to God! 2. Nueva Esperanza School serves more than 150 children from nearby villages. These children have limited resources and, until now, did not have access to clean water, therefore, they had various stomach illnesses and other more serious illnesses that they developed from drinking dirty water. They say, “We are grateful for this gift from God to our community and our children! Only God could do it!” 3. Nazareno is a church of 200 members and 100 children who help the community by educating children in the spiritual and moral area. They are very happy and glad that they will be able to help their community of more than 5,000 people by bringing them clean water.
