It wasn’t all work and no play for the ponies last week… Canela and Pebbles got temporary makeovers, becoming the horses of many colors for an afternoon. These ponies never fail to impress. Each pony was considered the best by their camper and parents and riders alike praised their steadiness and patience. Our first session of Intro to Polo Camp’s grand finale was yesterday at noon when campers donned UVA jerseys and played chukkers in front of an audience of parents and fans cheering them on. We had such a blast with this talented group of riders who during the week enhanced their polo skills more each day. Yesterday’s chukkers featured two successful penalty shots, a ball carried to goal on the nearside, breakaways, bumps, backshots, and sooo many smiles! We really enjoyed getting to share Virginia Polo and our wonderful ponies with the next generation of polo players- we see some real talent coming up from this group! #polo #vapolo #uvapolo #charlottesville #arenapolo (fb)
