Happy 125th Birthday...to us! 🎂 🎶 On this day, in 1900, the DSO's founding music director, Hans Kreissig conducted 32 musicians who were then known as the "Dallas Symphony Club" in their first-ever public performance at Turner Hall. Today, Maestro Fabio Luisi honored us with a special serenade at the piano, and the celebration continues tonight with Beethoven's epic "Eroica" and Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1, featuring our new Artist-in-Residence Leonidas Kavakos.
