We’re heartened to hear that Sen. John Hoffman is transitioning from ICU care to a rehabilitation facility. John is a longtime friend of Rise and a dedicated advocate for people with disabilities in Minnesota. In 2021 we recognized him for his support at our Rise gala, and just two months ago, our leadership team met with him at the Capitol to advocate for positive policy changes. During that visit, Sen. Hoffman’s wit, passion, and persistence were on full display. We know those same qualities will carry him through recovery as he and his wife, Yvette, continue to heal from last month’s heartbreaking shooting. Our thoughts remain with them, and with the family of House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, who died that same night. (fb)
