Top Strip Newark Police Foundation About Us The City of Newark is the largest city in the State of New Jersey which maintains a residential population of nearly 300000 people and enjoys well over 100000 commuters and 40000 college students each day on average. The Newark Police Division is the largest municipal police department in the State of New Jersey and employs over 1400 sworn and civilian members to protect Newarks occupants. The Newark Police Foundation was created for the purpose of furthering the Newark Police Divisions mission of serving and protecting the residents of and visitors to the City of Newark. As is often the case with cities of its size Newark experiences significant demands and constraints on its resources.
