𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞—𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. After moving to northwest Iowa to rebuild his life, Ryan was connected to Terri, an employment specialist, through our IPS program. She encouraged Ryan to consider becoming a peer support specialist. Today, Ryan draws from his own experiences with autism, anxiety, and depression to support others on their mental health journeys. This job hasn't just changed the lives of those Ryan supports, but it's changed Ryan too.
