BFK provided over two dozen bikes to Windham Area Interfaith Ministry (WAIM) this week. Once repaired, the bicycles will distributed to individuals who cannot afford to buy one. In many cases, the bikes will be their primary source of transportation. A safety reminder… Thank goodness an eagle-eyed volunteer noticed that the frame of a donated mountain bike had cracks. Cracks impact the integrity of the frame that could result in a serious accident. Please take a moment to throughly check out your bike (and your loved ones) at the beginning of the season and after any falls/drops. Happy and safe biking! P.S. - Since this bike is unsafe, BFK will strip it for viable parts to fix other bikes. (fb)

Changing lives one bike at a time. Bikes for Kids is a Connecticut based organization that brings smiles to children one bike at a time. Our volunteers collect repair and safety test donated used bicycles. The refurbished bicycles along with new helmets are given away to individuals of all ages and needs.
