We had four eighth graders and two teachers travel to Germany for their international trip. They explored Munich for three days and then attended school, staying with a host family in Pfullingen. They visited museums, spent time with the locals, and tasted German food. The goals of the trip are to provide students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in German language and culture, to step outside their comfort zone, and to celebrate all they have learned in the German language. Last week, our second graders visited Cooper Mountain Nature Park. They went on a hike and identified different flora and fauna. They did a scavenger hunt through the park and painted the scenery. The trip was the second graders' field studies, which connects to their current unit, "Urban life impacts wildlife."
