According to a new study conducted by UK researchers at the University of Sheffield funded by a Beyond Celiac Early Investigator grant, testing for Transgluminase 6 (TG6) antibodies can help identify patients with worse neurological complications related to gluten consumption. The study was published in the Annals of Neurology and investigated whether brain atrophy, symptom severity, anxiety, depression, and physical functioning were related to the level of TG6-IGA antibodies found in study participants.
